Open access publishing: issues, identifying predators, and tools to assess

Open access publishing has made science research available to anyone with Internet access. Government funding agencies are requiring researchers to publish in open access journals.  Yet, some researchers are skeptical about open access publishing as being the best way to disseminate their research.  Are there misconceptions about open access publishing? This session will look at some major issues with open access publishing.  You will learn about predatory publishers, how to identify potential predatory publishers, and a selection of tools that can assist you when selecting an open access journal to publish in.
